Late in 2016 I was approached by the new CEO of the Hedland Well Women’s Centre seeking help for a complete re-brand overhaul. This was a great step and investment for the Centre. Why they chose to take this step was simple, they wanted to be taken more seriously, reach a wider audience and create more awareness about the Centre. Having a proper branding strategy in place has proved how much it has benefited the Centre in a little over 12 months. Check out the testimonial below and how it has propelled the Centre into new heights.

 Brand Development

A brief insight into the development behind the making of the Centre’s new brand. A 6 month project.

Women In Unity Photographic Project

In conjunction with the new Branding we completed a unique photographic project for the Centre.

The project’s concept was in collaboration with an incredibly talented and inspiring woman Doctor Sarah McEwan whom I have had the pleasure of working with on multiple photographic projects in the past. Sarah has a side business Glamour and the Dust offering professional styling and fashion hire. Her creative mind and talents are amazing and I just love getting together and sharing ideas where none are too crazy or impossible. Her creative direction and ideas has played a huge complementing part to this image and to previous projects in the past.

The image has been printed and put into a large box frame to showcase in the centre. It will also be used as a campaign poster for other complementing facilities in and around the Pilbara. The sole purpose of this image is to create awareness about the centre and inspire women to unite together, building strength and unity.

In the beginning of 2018 the Women In Unity Image won an Award in the West Australian Epson Professional Photography State awards which was

a huge success for myself as a photographer and designer.

Big Change

Later in the year we had the pleasure of designing a logo to an additional change by the Centre which has also played a big impact for it’s success and it’s future role as it takes on the task locally in the Pilbara Region.

The Centre have held the pink ribbon breakfast for 13yrs. It’s in a partnership with BHP. In that time the event has raised over $300k for breast cancer research. This is amazing, however this money goes towards a national pool of money. Along with a many of other breast cancer events and fundraisers in town the Centre felt a need for a shift as an opportunity to support local families who are going through cancer and not just breast cancer.

PINK PILBARA BREAKFAST

The Centre changed the name of the event to be Pink Pilbara Breakfast. A new name to attract more industry. The event has BHP and FMG support but Roy Hill are also doing things in this space and supporting women and cancer by having pink trains and pink trucks and providing the pink carpet for the event this year.

The format of the event will stay the same with silent and live auction items. It will again be at Gateway and the Centre would like to see 200 people attend this year. It was a SOLD OUT Event!

The event is extremely successful (raising on average $25k and in the boom time $30K a year) but the aim now is to have funds raised to go to an organization who focuses on supporting Pilbara Families. REACH US are an organisation based in Karratha who offers ancillary support to families who are battling cancer.

Although the Centre is supporting them this year they aim to brand the event so it can still be a cancer fundraising focus but not tied to anything specifically.

In addition to this change it needs to be successful so a new logo was a must.

Tying in with the Centre’s new logo we kept the concept the same by creating the Unity message. Together we are one and we are stronger.

Pilbara Pink Ribbon Breakfast

I would like to thank all of the women involved in this project collaboration. It has come together beautifully and I am looking forward to seeing the Centre’s new image communicate its purpose for many years to come.
